Arcapta Drug Interactions

To help minimize your risk for complications, let your healthcare provider know about any other medications, vitamins, or supplements you are taking before beginning treatment with Arcapta. For example, combining beta blockers, certain diuretics, or other drugs with Arcapta can lead to interactions. Some of these reactions may increase your risk for serious side effects or even life-threatening complications.

An Overview of Interactions With Arcapta

Arcapta™ (indacaterol maleate) may interact with several other medications. Some of these drugs include but are not limited to:
 
 
 
  • Certain diuretics ("water pills"), such as:
 
 
  • Corticosteroids, such as:

 

    • Betamethasone (Celestone®)
    • Cortisone
    • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
    • Fludrocortisone (Florinef®)
    • Hydrocortisone (Cortef®)
    • Methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol®, Medrol®)
    • Prednisolone (Orapred®, Pediapred®)
    • Prednisone
    • Triamcinolone (Kenalog®, Aristospan®)
 
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), such as:
 
 
  • Other long-acting beta agonists, such as:
 
 
  • QT-prolonging medications (drugs that have a certain effect on the heart rhythm)
  • Theophylline (Uniphyl®, Theocron®, TheoCap®, Theo-24®, Elixophyllin®)
  • Tricyclic antidepressants, such as:
