Brovana Dosage

For the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the recommended Brovana dosage is one vial twice daily. The drug is inhaled using a nebulizer, a small machine that converts liquid medications into tiny droplets that are inhaled into the lungs. Try to separate Brovana doses by about 12 hours, as taking them closer together increases the risk of side effects.

Brovana Dosage: An Introduction

There is only one standard dose of Brovana® (arformoterol tartrate), regardless of your age, weight, or other medical conditions. As is always the case, do not adjust your Brovana dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.

Brovana Dosing for COPD

The recommended Brovana dose for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one vial (15 mcg of Brovana in 2 mL) inhaled using a nebulizer twice daily.
You will need to purchase or rent a nebulizer in order to use Brovana. Nebulizers are small machines that convert liquid medications into tiny droplets that are just the right size to be inhaled into the airway. They are available in a wide range of sizes and prices.

General Information on Dosing With Brovana

Some considerations for people taking Brovana include the following:
  • Try to separate Brovana doses by about 12 hours. Taking them farther apart makes Brovana less effective, and taking them closer together increases the risk of Brovana side effects.
  • Make sure you know exactly how to measure the dose and how to use and clean the nebulizer.
  • Unlike some other nebulizer medications, Brovana vials are used without being diluted. It is not known whether it is safe to mix Brovana together with other nebulizer solutions.
  • For Brovana to work properly, they must be taken as prescribed. The medication will not work if you stop taking it.
  • If you are unsure about anything related to Brovana or your Brovana dosage, please talk to your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
