Precautions and Warnings With Fluticasone and Salmeterol
There are a number of precautions and warnings with fluticasone and salmeterol to be aware of. For example, fluticasone and salmeterol can worsen an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), diabetes, or epilepsy in some people. Also, fluticasone and salmeterol can potentially interact with certain other medicines, so it is important to let your healthcare provider know (prior to taking fluticasone and salmeterol) about all other medicines you may be taking. Among the people who should not take fluticasone and salmeterol are those who are allergic to the drug or any of its inactive components.
Not had chickenpox or the measles (or have not been vaccinated against them)
Any allergies, including allergies to food (especially milk), dyes, or preservatives.
Also let your healthcare provider know if you are:
Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
Breastfeeding.
You should also make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all of the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
