Foradil Side Effects

Common Foradil side effects in people with asthma include bronchitis, chest infections, and chest pain. For those taking it for COPD, common side effects include upper respiratory tract infections, sore throat, and back pain. Although many people tolerate the drug without problems, notify your healthcare provider immediately if you develop serious side effects of Foradil, such as breathing problems that are becoming worse or an irregular heart rhythm.

An Introduction to Foradil Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Foradil® (formoterol fumarate). However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. When side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with Foradil. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list of Foradil side effects with you.)

Common Foradil Side Effects

Foradil has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials, in which the side effects of a group of people taking the drug are documented and compared to another group not taking the medicine. • Upper respiratory tract infections (such as the common cold) -- in up to 7.4 percent of people
  • Back pain -- up to 4.2 percent
  • Sore throat -- up to 3.5 percent
  • Chest pain -- up to 3.2 percent
