COPD Home > Meds for COPD
Several different COPD meds (medications) are available, and many people require more than one medicine to treat their symptoms. You may have medication(s) you take on a daily basis, as well as medications that you take only during exacerbations (temporary worsening of symptoms). If you do not feel that your medications are working well enough, or if you are experiencing bothersome side effects, please speak with your healthcare provider. With so many different medications for COPD available, you may be able to find a medication or combination of medications that works better or is more tolerable.
Depending on the severity of your condition, your healthcare provider may recommend a number of different drugs, including:
- Bronchodilators (medications to open the airways)
- Steroids (including inhaled steroids)
