Clinical studies have shown that diarrhea, nausea, and an irritated nose and throat are among the most common side effects of Perforomist. Side effects tend to be minor and, in most cases, can easily be treated. However, there are a number of Perforomist side effects that are more serious and should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately, such as any signs of an allergic reaction or breathing problems that are becoming worse.
Perforomist Side Effects: An IntroductionAs with any medicine, there are possible side effects with Perforomist™ (formoterol solution). However, not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. When side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Common Perforomist Side EffectsPerforomist has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials. In these trials, the side effects reported by a group of people taking the drug are documented and then compared to the side effects reported by another group not taking the medicine. As a result, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.
In these studies, the most common Perforomist side effects included:
- Diarrhea -- in up to 4.9 percent of people
- Nausea -- up to 4.9 percent
- An irritated nose and throat -- up to 3.3 percent
- Dry mouth -- up to 3.3 percent
- Vomiting -- up to 2.4 percent
- Dizziness -- up to 2.4 percent
- Insomnia -- up to 2.4 percent.
