Perforomist Drug Interactions

If certain medications are combined with Perforomist, drug interactions may occur. Some of these interactions can decrease the effectiveness of the medications or can cause life-threatening complications. If Perforomist drug interactions are a concern, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely. Drug interactions are especially a concern if you are taking Perforomist with MAOIs, QT-prolonging medications, or tricyclic antidepressants.

 

An Overview of Perforomist Drug Interactions

Perforomist™ (formoterol solution) can potentially interact with a few other medicines. Some of these medicines that may lead to Perforomist interactions include:
 
  • Beta blockers, such as:

 

 

  • Certain diuretics, such as:

 

 

  • Corticosteroids, such as:

 

    • Betamethasone (Celestone®)
    • Cortisone
    • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
    • Fludrocortisone (Florinef®)
    • Hydrocortisone (Cortef®)
    • Methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol®, Medrol®)
    • Prednisolone (Ovapred®, Pediapred®)
    • Prednisone
    • Triamcinolone (Kenalog®, Aristospan®)

 

  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:

 

 

  • QT-prolonging medications (drugs that have a certain effect on the heart rhythm)
  • Theophylline (Uniphyl®, Theocron®, TheoCap®, Theo-24®, Elixophyllin®)
  • Tricyclic antidepressants, including:
