Pirbuterol: Storage Methods
Pirbuterol should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. You should have a pirbuterol inhaler available at all times, especially if you have severe
asthma attacks. Your inhaler should be cleaned regularly; refer to the information that came with your pirbuterol inhaler for detailed instructions about how to clear the inhaler.
Keep pirbuterol and all other medications out of the reach of children.
Pirbuterol: What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?
If you do not take your pirbuterol as scheduled, take your missed dose as soon as you remember. However, do not take your doses more closely together than every four hours (unless absolutely necessary to control an attack).
Pirbuterol
asthma inhalers are available in two sizes:
- Maxair Autohaler 14 gram inhaler -- containing 400 inhalations, with 200 mcg per inhalation
- Maxair Autohaler 2.8 gram inhaler -- containing 80 inhalations, with 200 mcg per inhalation (this smaller size is used as a "sample").
Currently, there is no generic pirbuterol available. Even though all of the patents for pirbuterol have expired, no generic manufacturers have chosen to make a generic version of pirbuterol.
