Is Pirbuterol Used for Childhood Asthma?

Pirbuterol is approved for children at least 12 years old. It may be difficult for young children to correctly use the pirbuterol inhaler. Be sure to talk with your healthcare provider about the best ways to treat childhood asthma.
 

Is Pirbuterol Used for Off-Label Reasons?

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend pirbuterol for treating something other than the conditions discussed above. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, the prevention of exercise-induced asthma is considered an off-label pirbuterol use (see Asthma and Exercise).
