Tudorza Warnings and Precautions

Although many people with breathing problems may benefit from using Tudorza, this prescription medication may not be appropriate for people who have glaucoma, bladder problems, or prostate problems. Medical conditions such as these may become worse during Tudorza treatment. Other precautions for using this drug safely include warnings for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding and people who are taking certain medications.

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Tudorza™ Pressair™ (aclidinium bromide) if you have:
 
 
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
 
  • Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Breastfeeding.
 
You should also tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
 

Specific Precautions and Warnings for Tudorza

Some warnings and precautions to be aware of prior to using this drug include the following:
 
  • Tudorza is not a fast-acting asthma medication and cannot replace fast-acting rescue inhalers. Let your healthcare provider know if it is not adequately controlling your breathing problems.
 
  • In some cases, inhaled medications, including Tudorza, can make breathing problems worse. Let your healthcare provider know if your breathing problems become worse during treatment.
 
  • As an anticholinergic medication, Tudorza can worsen glaucoma, bladder problems, and prostate problems. Talk to your healthcare provider before using this medicine if you have any of these problems.
 
 
  • Tudorza contains lactose. This could be a problem for people with severe milk protein allergies.
 
  • Tudorza is a pregnancy Category C medication. This means that it may not be safe for use during pregnancy, although the full risks are currently unknown (see Tudorza and Pregnancy for more information).
 
  • It is unknown if Tudorza passes through breast milk. Therefore, if you are breastfeeding or plan to start, talk with your healthcare provider before using this product (see Tudorza and Breastfeeding for more information).
